In 2020, Pathway went through a series called “Our Daily Bread.” God’s word gives us substance and it sustains us! But when we come together as a community to dig into His word, use the tools around us to dig deeper, this daily bread soon turns into a feast of wonderful flavors and content for our souls and our community. Join us daily as we study God’s word together!
Pastor Matt explained to us today that the difference between walking in light and darkness is not the presence of sin in your life or not. It is the difference between the presence of God’s truth and forgiveness of your sins that bring you to walk in the presence of a God who is light. Take time to lay all of your mistakes, hurts, sins, burdens, brokenness at His feet tonight.
We have a wealth of resources around us. We can read different gospel presentations, learn different ways to share, but we also have some of the greatest speakers, most incredible athletes, superstars, that share about God’s love. When we encounter someone and understand their interests, we have a chance to connect them to God’s story through the testimonies of personalities they connect with.
Below are 3 simple resources to bookmark. Today, try clicking on to one of these links and watch one video from someone that you would be interested in hearing from.
A series of films, testimonies and documentaries from celbrities. Click this link and scroll down to choose by collection; includes stories from Hollywood, musicians, sports stars and more
This is a website that a ministry partner of ours created, similar to I Am Second. This site was built for athletes to be able to give autographs on cards with links to their testimony videos. Local sports names include Derek Carr, Rod Woodson, Ben Zobrist, and more
1. What aspects of these videos do you connect with? What truths in scripture are you hearing in these stories?
2. How does your connection with these celebrities open up doors to hearing what they have to say? Do you know others that might be drawn to the same video you just watched? Will you be able to share it with them?
3. How can you build sharing the gospel on top of one of these videos? What would be the next step in a conversation with someone after you watch this together, or send this video to them?
This week we will be talking about different gospel presentations. If you have one (short, long, an analogy, a system of scripture, a video, a youtube link, anything) please share it with us!
Here is a document pathway put together in 2012 with 5 gospel presentations.
Today read gospel presentation #5. This is the simplest of all the presentations. There are advantages and disadvantages to simplicity like this. Take time to see both the strengths and weaknesses of this presentation.
1. After spending the last few weeks looking at the essentials of the gospel and key scriptures used for outreach, what thoughts can you identify in this presentation?
2. Is there anything you think is lacking or would want to expand on in this presentation?
3. What parts of this way to present the gospel can you connect personal, honest, transparent, and vulnerable testimony from your own life? How can you take a “gospel presentation” but make it intimately connected with God’s story in your own life or in the life of the person you are sharing with?

This week we will be looking at “classic” scripture and passages used for sharing the gospel. Take time to use our 5 classic Daily Bread techniques (Plain reading, inductive OIDA study, original language and single word focus, lectio divina, and extra biblical sources) to understand the passages deeply, but each day will end with working to be able to express the truth simply.
Read Romans 10:5-13
1. Pick a study technique from the Daily Bread series and dig deeper into this passage. What stands out to you? What new insight do you have?
2. What impact does this truth have on your own life? How does it impact your heart and understanding of the gospel?
3. How would you explain this verse to a non-believer who may not understand Christianese? Rewrite this truth in your own words and include a sentence of testimony about how it impacts you personally.
